1. Agreement to Terms
By creating an account or using the Sylven application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Sylven is operated as a sole trader business based in England (company registration pending). References to "Sylven", "we", "us", or "our" refer to this business.
2. What Sylven Is and Is Not
Sylven is a personal symptom logging tool designed to help you track and organise your own health experiences over time.
Sylven is NOT a medical device. Sylven is NOT a diagnostic tool. Sylven does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing in the App should be interpreted as medical guidance.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice. Do not delay seeking medical attention because of anything you have read or tracked in Sylven.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older to use Sylven. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@sylven.health if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may only create one account per person. Accounts are non-transferable.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Sylven for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its infrastructure
- Upload or transmit any malicious code or harmful content
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality
- Attempt to extract, scrape, or copy data from the App without authorisation
6. Subscription and Payment
Sylven offers a free tier for daily symptom logging. Premium features (including PDF doctor reports, extended history, and trigger analysis) are available for an annual subscription fee of GBP 4.99 per year.
Subscriptions are billed annually in advance. Prices may change with 30 days written notice to your registered email address.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods except where required by law.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have a 14-day right to cancel a new subscription and receive a full refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, unless you have already accessed the premium features during that period.
7. Health Data and Medical Disclaimer
- Sylven stores health data that you voluntarily enter. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter.
- The doctor reports generated by Sylven are summaries of data you have entered yourself. They are not clinical assessments.
- Any "when to seek help" flags or insights generated by the App are informational only and are not a substitute for professional medical judgement.
- Sylven accepts no liability for any health decisions made on the basis of information displayed in the App.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, branding, and functionality of the Sylven App are owned by or licensed to Sylven and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.
You retain ownership of the data you enter into the App. By using Sylven, you grant us a limited licence to store and process that data solely to provide the service to you.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sylven shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the App
- Loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption
- Any reliance placed on the App's outputs for medical or clinical decision-making
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Service Availability
We aim to keep Sylven available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or discontinue the App at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.
In the event that we discontinue the App permanently, we will provide at least 30 days notice and allow you to export your data before closure.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of Sylven after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also have rights under the laws of your country of residence.
